Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
The Word reminds us that the Holy Spirit in us is God, and since God is love, then within us is God's divine love. We love others through the love of God and it is vital that we demonstrate His love according to His Word. Now, because we are in a process it may take a while for us to achieve the type of love to forgive and visit the person who murdered your loved one. That's God's love. It may take a moment to develop the type of love after someone brings a false accusation against you. That’s God love. It will take God's kind of love to forgive them. Listen, it takes God's love to extend God's love to a homeless person that is struggling mentally and carries a pungent smell. God's love is that kind of love that helps us see the transformation of that person, before you or I begin to speak with them. The Bible states; "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). Glory!
For the Christian life the most vital sign of all is LOVE, God's LOVE!!
I remember a story about a man experienced and discovered that God's love is true. He told the story that; "I experienced a kind of love that he had not known before. This love made me think about my life made me seriously see what life was all about. One day I said to the chaplain, ’I am beginning to see what life is all about. I saw it in the nurses who cared for me those 3 days and nights, and in my parents who never left my side. I’ve seen it in the faces of the people who have come to visit. I’ve seen it in other people who forgave me for what I did to their car and for the hurt I caused them. I guess I’ve found what life is all about by looking at people who already know. And what I saw was love. A love which accepts me for what I am and who I am. A Love that upholds and surrounds me. I know what life is, chaplain, life is love, the love of God through Christ instilled in each life.’" Praise God!
Prayer
Heavenly Father help me not to carry stones with me everywhere I go. Lord God help me to see and love folks the way you do. May I put down the stones that I may have pick up during my life and replace them with your acts of love. May I accept your way in loving others and learn to adjust in loving other and being patient during difficult times. I am open to putting down negative stones that I have collected on the way. Praise God and amen!
