We Are Vigilant

We Are Vigilant

Vigilant means to detect danger, ever awake and to be alert. Beloved as believers we are called to be vigilant. Simply stated, "Watchful". 1 Peter 5:8 states; "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour".

This verse calls us to be watchful for schemes and tactics of Satan because this guy is truly active. He really tries to capture us with a thought, and then owns us (stronghold) with a thought. But Praise God for His Word!

He loves to deceive folks. This guy works 24/7, working schemes that he developed centuries ago.

Take for instances Little Johnny who got lost while shopping with his mom. Somehow, Little Johnny discovered that he was lost and separated from his mom. People were feeling sorry for him. They started giving him money because they were sad that he couldn't find his mother, until someone touched him and said, "I think I see your mother over there". Little Johnny said, "Sshhh, I see her too, but I don't need to find her right now".

Great ones, there are folks who are owned by Satan. Their focus is to detract you and I from the truth; to discourage you. Satan is using them too and that's what he does. While we are asleep he is setting plans to devour your thoughts, to slow you down from reaching your destiny.

Lastly, he is the premier illusionist. He loves to cause deception and cause things to not appear clear as they initially look. So, great ones be vigilant! Amen.

Call to Action

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

1 John 4:1 (KJV).

May we encourage one another to remember God's promises and our destiny.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You so much for Your Word that provides us with wisdom to detect Satan's schemes and to be aware of his attacks. Lord God, we will be active in encouraging our brothers and sisters to stay vigilant and to remain in the joy of the Lord always. Amen.
