Memorial Day 2021
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 After World War I the day was set aside to honor all American wars, and the custom was extended to pay homage to deceased relatives and friends, both military and civilian. There are a number of relatives, mentors, coach and friends who lost loved ones during wars. The Bible offers not just a beautiful word; but the divine comfort that God provides. The most solemn ceremony conducted on Memorial Day is the placing of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns located in Arlington national Cemetery. Today is Memorial Day, a time for remembering people who were important in our lives.
The purpose is to honor the nation’s military personnel killed in wartime. The holiday was called Decoration Day at first, because people decorated soldiers’ graves with flowers and flags on that day.
Today may we proclaim a heartfelt pray of comfort for those who are mourning profound absence. Amen!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, those who sacrificed their lives have transitioned into eternity, but are not forgotten. Lord God, bless those who have experienced such lost with Your loving and proud comfort. In JESUS name Amen! 2021 'INTENTIONAL' "We're ALL In"
